Railway platform repair

For the repair of the platforms at Brussels North Station, Infrabel, the responsible for the railway infrastructure in Belgium, selected stainless steel reinforcement bar to a.o. avoid recovery (repair of) corrosion and the use of sacrificial anodes. The type of stainless steel used is EN 1.4362 (AISI 2304).

For these type of applications EN 1.4362 will perform better than EN 1.4404 (AISI 316) due both the high strength (0,2% Yield Strength is typically 30% higher) and the better pitting corrosion resistance characteristics.
